We will receive the coronavirus catch up premium grant in the academic year 2020-21. We intend to spend the grant on providing additional tutoring in support of closing the gap due to COVID-19. This is in the form of after school tutor groups with the class teacher to provide pre-learning and revisiting learning objective as part of the children's learning journey in school. A proportion of the grant has been spent on training staff to tutor phonics so that we can provide speedy interventions where needed to ensure all of our children understand all of their phonic sounds in order to develop early reading. These interventions are bespoke and take place where and when a child has fallen behind their phonics reading group.
